My sister just started a new job as a teacher. She has always wanted to be one and for her first day of school I presented her with a perfume gift set. We had joked that she would be nervous and I told her she would not have to worry about stressing over stuff so I got her favorite fragrance for her in the perfume gift set.

She called me after her first day of school and said two freshmen girls approached her after class and asked her what the fragrance was. She showed them the bottle of perfume and they decided they wanted to buy some just like it. Sure enough, a couple of days later, the girls were wearing that same fragrance.

I teased my sister about already influencing her students. She admitted she had hoped to make an impression on their education but she had not really expected to influence their personal preferences for perfume. At Christmas time, these same two girls presented their “favorite teacher” with a perfume gift set of that same fragrance. By the way, she helped them understand algebra in a way no one had ever explained it before. They both got high marks in her class for algebra and she got a big thank you from their parents.
