My hair is highlighted so I use high end hair care products that were specially formulated for color treated hair. I usually buy these hair care products online because I find that this method is cheaper than purchasing shampoos and conditioners from the salon where I have my hair cut and colored.
Although I use some high end hair care products not everything I do to my locks costs money. Some of the hair care products I use come directly from my kitchen cabinet. For instance I use olive oil on my hair and scalp about once every two weeks. I leave the olive oil in my hair and on my scalp for about one hour before shampooing it out. I find that doing this leaves my hair and scalp in excellent condition.
I told my hairdresser that I do this and she said it was a good idea. Olive oil is one of the ingredients in many professional quality hair care products these days. Hence using the real thing on my hair can only be a good thing.
