When coloring your hair it is very important to keep it moisturized with color protective products. The hair color I use usually comes with a tube of specialized conditioning cream. It is enough to use on my long hair for the initial rinse and maybe two consequent washings. Then I have to use other hair care color protective conditioning rinses.

I have tried the protective colored hair care products that are used in the shower and rinsed out after two minutes. Those are great but when thinking green those rinses sure do cause me to use a lot of water. So in an effort to conserve water I have given the leave in hair conditioners a try. I have found it pays to get the name brand product when using this type of conditioner. The off brand or generic products had left my hair feeling kind of sticky. 

Colored hair requires special hair care. I have been coloring my hair for many years and have tried all kinds of products. Some hair colors and hair care products just seem to work better than others. It appears to be a trial and error effort and it depends on your hair type and needs. I am always open to trying something new.
